The guild mission is to educate and create a community of quilters to share ideas, develop skills, and encourage the tradition of quilting.
San Juan Quilters Guild History
The San Juan Quilters Guild began in 1982 when a small group of local women set out to revive the fading art of making quilts. With few tools and limited materials, they met to share skills, learn together, and fuel a growing passion. Their first official meeting was held in January 1983, followed by their first quilt show just a year later—displayed in a vacant storefront using floodlights they gathered themselves.
Over the years, the Guild hosted national instructors, organized large regional seminars, raised funds, and grew to more than 150 members at its peak. Today, San Juan Quilters Guild continues to adapt and inspire, carrying forward a rich tradition of creativity and community.
We are a friendly bunch who love quilting. Please join us!
