A desire to honor her heritage and the family quilters who came before her, led our featured quilter to learn how to create quilts.
She made her first quilt in 2009 and says, “Then I was hooked, especially on the fabrics!” She says she feels her fabric stash is lacking in solid colors, but admits her favorite guilty pleasure is buying fabric and quilts.
She wasn’t able to devote much time to quilting until three or four years ago, but is inspired by other people’s quilts and enjoys the friends she has made through the quilt guild. She is definitely an asset to our guild.
Although she is hesitant to tackle the Cathedral Window block, when she does it will be with a reminder that quilting is a beautiful way to keep memories alive.
Asked about a final thought, she says, “I LOVE QUILTS!!!”
