My mom taught me to sew beginning when I was ten years old and I fell in love with it!
From then on, I made garments for myself (including my wedding dress) and others, home décor and window treatments, and even tried my hand at making a quilt when I was about sixteen!
I started quilting in 1990 or 1991 when I took a quilting course at San Juan College from our very own Connie Nordstrom! I fell in love with quilting, and of course, I would, because I love fabrics! The colors, the textures, the patterns, and the endless combinations that can be created…I admit, I’m a fabric addict! Although blues, purples, and greens are my favorite colors, I like to try different patterns from traditional to modern and especially like to juxtapose
traditional patterns with current bold fabrics! My favorite block is the pinwheel because it is both traditional and modern and has so much motion and ‘spin’…kind of like me! Some quilts I keep but mostly I gift them to someone special. When I create quilts, I’m in the ‘Zone’ and all is well!
The people in the San Juan Quilters Guild are jewels to me. It’s all about the relationships. We are threaded to one another by our love of quilting and share a kindred spirit. I so enjoy being, sharing, and quilting with all of you…you are my quilting sisters!

Something you probably don’t know about me: At one time I had a general aviation license and flew small planes!
